Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer? is the eighth album by of Montreal, released on January 23, 2007. It was written and recorded by Kevin Barnes with assistance from bandmates Bryan Poole, Dottie Alexander and James Husband. It is a concept album, where Kevin Barnes details his transformation into a glam-rock inspired alter-ego called Georgie Fruit. The first half of the album is sung from his own perspective, and the second half is sung from Georgie Fruit's. The album's themes deal with Kevin Barnes' depression problems, and his relationship issues.

Musically, the album marked the beginning of a turn from the synth pop of his previous two albums and incorporated elements of glam rock and funk, particularly in the second half of the album.
