The Terror cover-1-
The Terror is the thirteenth album by The Flaming Lips, and was released on April 1, 2013. It continues the trajectory set by Embryonic before it, and features a substantially darker sound. It is a much noisier record than even Embryonic, using noisy, dissonant guitar, white noise and feedback as instruments. The record was recorded as Wayne Coyne was in the midst of a separation from his wife of over 20 years, and Steven Drozd relapsing on heroin. The album features themes of depression and despair, and has an extremely bleak sound, and is one of the band's most abstract, experimental records.

On February 2013, the album was leaked on the internet one and a half months before release.
